93 Engine takes first due on multi-alarm working fire

 February 21, 2017

This morning the 93 Engine was dispatched with the balance of the First Alarm companies to 210 Sussex Street for the Working Structure Fire. Engine 93 responded with a crew of 3. Weekday morning dispatch prompted a quick upgrade to the SRN then to the second alarm as Chief 93-A arrived on scene met with heavy fire conditions in the rear of a large duplex style home with a large warehouse style addition in the rear. Engine 93 laid in and stretched the initial attack line into the residential area of the structure. Crews from all over Lackawanna and Luzerne County assisted throughout the fire with heavy fireload well involved in the warehouse addition. Low manpower across the county caused this fire to be brought to a 4th alarm with units from Covington Township, Clarks Summit and Olyphant making it to the scene while Scranton Fire (Area 50) Covered the tri-boro area throughout the incident. Units operated from 9AM until around 1PM with multiple hand lines and eventually support from Earthworks Excavating to assist in the overhaul of the warehouse addition. Photo's from all over Facebook and the Internet.

I live right next to this and I swear for some reason the 700 block of a main is the worse for people hitting parked cars

Great work!
