Around 5pm Tuesday Night Ladder and Engine 933 were dispatched into Duryea for the working Commercial Structure Fire at Schott Glass on York Street. Engine 93 established a crew to cover the immediate area while Duryea, Taylor, Moosic and more were operating on this large scale incident. Shortly after Duryea Fire command Requested Engine 93 to the scene. Responded with a crew of 3 Engine 93 arrived and was detailed to managing a 3" Blitz attack line inside the structure, keeping fire and heat away from the Chemical Batch House. Engine 93 crew maintained this position for roughly an hour when relieved by a Duryea crew. Engine 93 then stood by at Command until released. Companies responded from as far as Eynon and Covington, Lackawanna County and Beyond West Pittston, Luzerne county to assist with this multi-alarm incident. Much was learned on this incident, no one was injured, and great command structure prevented any hectic times during the 10+ hour fire.
